More Shredding Habits
There is nothing like a good cleansing! How do you feel after you clean your house? Your car? Or even when you work in the yard and everything looks nice and fresh. I know it makes me happy! It gives me a sense of accomplishment. Success. Well....cleansing our body is even more important. At the beginning of the year, I started doing a Shred10. This is a 10 day jumpstart into a 4 month experience to launch you into life long health. For 10 days, I ate clean, gave up some bad habits - some of which I thought I would never ever give up, and found myself feeling so much better. Even after the 10 days were over, I continued. Of course I wasn't perfect but I recognized what I didn't need to do. It's kind of like my daily routine at home, knowing that if I put a dish in the sink without rinsing it, it's going to be even more difficult to wash. I started thinking that my health is like that. If I just leave it and do nothing about it, then it's going to be more difficult to get it back into a healthy me. Changing a bad habit for a good one can make life so much easier all the way around.
Years ago, I rented a house from this wonderful family. They told me that if I saw anything wrong, down to the smallest leak, to make sure that I told them. The gentleman explained that he had once let a leak go thinking it was nothing serious enough to deal with. He ended up having to do major renovations to the entire side of a kitchen wall. He was told that all could have been avoided (or prevented) had that small leak been repaired in the beginning. Shouldn't I do the same with my health? Shouldn't I just go ahead and get rid of those "bad habits" and replace them with "good habits" now? I keep hearing that prevention is a whole lot better than treatment, I'm beginning to believe it - in more ways than one. And, I'm positive it's a lot more expensive too.
So, now I'm getting ready to do my 4th Shred10. Seems to get easier each time, and I always look forward to it. Even though I try to make it a daily habit, it is difficult on some occasions. Let's say like my granddaughter's birthday, a weekend away with family, you know how it is. With that being said, why don't you join me in the next Shred10 starting April 3rd. You don't have to live close by, we'll stay in touch through Facebook. We will have our own support group with encouraging notes, recipes and so much more. And just think of how we will feel after just 10 days! One day at a time, one step at a time. We can do anything for 10 days! That's only one weekend! Are you in with me? Let me know if you want details.
Just a quick note to remember - "Food does things FOR you and medicine does things TO you".
