Shred10 2022
I mentioned in one of my posts about eating comfort food during my broken ankle recovery. You know what happens when you eat comfort food? You start feeling bloated which in turn makes you feel bad, and there is definitely weight gain. That’s the way it worked out for me. Now I have 10 pounds to lose to be where I want to be. And let me tell you one thing – it is NOT easy!
This is why I am so thankful for the Shred10. This is a 10-day jumpstart into a four-month experience that will launch you into lifelong health. We begin the Shred10 every month, usually the first Monday unless it’s a holiday, and I find myself continuing for more than the 10 days because I feel so much better when I eat right. I certainly didn’t follow the plan from March until June that’s for sure! I’ve learned that food does things FOR you and medicine does things TO you. I’m not saying that all medicines are bad, I am thankful for some of them but why take meds if you don’t have to. I’d rather eat good food than pop pills! Wouldn’t you? It’s all about whole food nutrition.
Ok, back to the Shred 10, we have a Facebook group where you’ll find videos, cookbooks, grocery list to make sure you have all of the right food on hand. People post recipes, helpful hints, give inspiration and anything to help during the journey. And if you do want to lose weight, like me and my 10 pounds, I replace two meals with one of our Complete whole food shakes and I’m set to go. Of course, I take my “magic pills” with the nutrients of over 30 fruits, vegetables and berries – can’t forget those. And my plant-based Omegas. I remember when I was taking omegas way back and the fishy taste that I had to deal with. We have taken the fish totally out of the picture and went straight to the source – the algae. No more fishy taste – or burps! YUK!!!
Our next Shred10 begins on July 11th which gives me plenty of time to check my supply of Complete and place my order. It’s also a good time to stop at roadside produce stands and farmers markets for fresh veggies. I hope you’ll join me because it’s always more fun with a buddie!

Don’t Get the People and Prevention
I want to ask you a question. With everything going on in this world, the negativity, the pointing fingers, the blaming, the rage, the hatred, sickness, disease and deaths, why on earth would anyone not want to be surrounded with people who are positive, supporting, helpful, happy and healthy. I just don’t get it!!! Another question, if you were to find out that you had chronic disease, would you not do whatever you could if there were any possible chance that it could help you? Not only what the doctors say, but anything that was backed by research!
One thing that I have learned during the past nine years is that no one will take care of your health better than you. You have got to take control of your destiny. It’s up to you. Not me, YOU! I can help by making suggestions, but the final decision is on you. This is why it just breaks my heart to see so many talk about their health issues, their doctors’ visits, hospital stays, chemo, radiation, you name it, there are all sorts of treatments out there, and no one is listening to the prevention side of it, the power of nutrition and how it truly does affect the body. Yes, the body that God created! He not only created man and woman, but He also gave them a garden, full of fruits and vegetables, yes whole food, to keep them healthy. This my friends is called PREVENTION. I don’t get it! Hmmmmm, processed food versus whole food, let’s see… I just don’t get it!!! I’m not 100% myself but I sure do my best to live it out.
No, it’s not miracle fruits and veggies. It won’t keep you from ever getting sick but it may just help you have a better, longer life with a little kick in your step. People have been asking me if what they’re seeing on TV about fruits and vegetables are what I’m talking about. NO IT IS NOT! The whole food capsules that I’m talking about have been around for 28 years and backed by research. I’m not talking about borrowed research, like these copycat companies, I’m talking about clinical research that’s been done and continues to be done by well-known institutions such as the University of Texas/MD Anderson, Yale University, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and many others. Eat More Fruits and Vegetables

Reflection
Over the past few days, I have been reflecting on all that I learned during our conference, and where I would be without someone sharing the power of whole food nutrition with me almost nine years ago. At the time, I didn’t realize that I was joining a community of people who not only helped me see how important real food is for my health, but educated me on how easily I could help my body heal by consuming an abundance of raw vine ripened fruits and veggies easily every single day. I am a testimony on the heart clinical study that was done on humans not labs. Their mission to inspire healthy living around the world made sense to me and I wanted to share it with everyone. As I think back and look at the pictures from this past weekend, I am so thankful that I said YES to lock arms with so many caring, passionate and loving people who share the same vision and are there to support each other. Lots of laughter and some tears were shed as I saw close friends celebrate some well deserved promotions. Getting promoted and pay raises for helping people feel good from the inside out and vice versa! The testimonies of families losing everything then reaching financial freedom! It doesn’t get any better than this. I am so proud to be a partner with this company. When Jay Martin, President and Founder, said that he wanted to build a stable and lasting company to help as many people as possible realize their dreams – he wasn’t kidding and it’s happening. I look forward to the next nine years plus+!
From the Mind of a Messed Up Woman
People want me to write because they say that I am a good writer. I don’t think so, but what do I know!
What if they knew what I really wanted to write. My true thoughts, feelings, emotions, whatever it may be. Could they handle it? Well, let’s just say that I’m ready to go ahead and start putting it down on paper — ok – on the word pad on my computer 😊
So, to start, here it is 9:30 p.m. and I just took my wonderful blood pressure because I’m keeping up with it. It’s low, 100/62 so do I take my medicine? Wait to take it? I guess I’ll wait until I go to bed. That way if I get light headed I’ll be in bed. Good grief!!! Here I am talking to people about nutrition and eating their fruits and veggies so they can stay off meds, which is exactly what I am doing myself. My cardiologist has taken me off one of my blood pressure pills, and now I think it’s time to take me off the other or at least cut down on the dosage which is why I’m keeping up with the readings. Anyway, who knows my body more than me? Isn’t it like our car. A woman knows her car. She can hear a weird sound and know that something is just not right but when she tells her husband and he takes it for a drive, he, of course doesn’t think there is anything wrong with it. Then poof, she’s driving it and there it goes, stuck on the side of the road. Now I do have to say that this has never happened with Scott, but it has happened in the past. We’re not even going to go there with exes!
Well, that’s my little “blow off steam” segment for tonight. It’s been a great day. I’m living life. Loving on people and trying to understand who I am while living with the heart that Jesus gave me.
Time Tested Health Journey
In February 2013 my wife went to a gathering at a friend’s house to learn what I thought was about how to make healthy meals. We both like to cook so we went. This day started my journey of what I put in my body. I have not eaten at McDonalds or much fast food since that day. We committed to start eating whole food nutrition. My wife believed so much in it she signed up to work for the company, and I have been continuing to eat and take the whole food supplements and shakes daily. I have had a breakfast smoothie about 9 out of ten morning since. I would never go back to eating a biscuit daily again.
I now watch what I eat. I read about the food I eat. I have eaten a lot of Salads, raw fruits and Vegetables. In fact, we grow most of our own lettuce on our Tower Garden. I now love Brussel Sprouts, Cooked Carrots and Egg Plant, where I would not touch the stuff before. My favorite food is spaghetti squash. Hopeful to harvest a few today.
Now I know, when you give your body good food it will crave good food. Plant based whole food nutrition is the best diet for anyone. I have done the research for a little over 6 years. I have read a lot about what I am doing. I know I am on the right path. The greater number of plant-based phytonutrients you put in your body the better your health will be. I am not perfect! I cheat with pasta, rice and ice cream more than I probably should. But I eat very little red meat or pork but crave apples, cauliflower and spaghetti squash.
I now sleep great; I take no prescribed medicine even though diabetes and high blood pressure runs in my family. My skin is way better, gums, nails and hair are in excellent shape. You can learn more about it too, and I will put my research up with any other fad diet out there. Eating as much raw fruits and vegetables to your diet and being sure by taking Juice Plus, too. Yes, this is a plug for my wife’s product. But this is a plug 6 years after the fact.
